We were on a flying visit to Reims and needed 2 rooms for one night. So I trawled the internet and found Au Tambour, the price was right and the reviews were positive. A great place for 1 night, the secure parking is a boon, the hotel is very clean, and the proprietors are very pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast is very simple, but there is a good selection, the coffee is good, and you can even boil eggs!! The only drawback is the size of the rooms - very small, but for 1 night it is not a problem. Would stay there again. à 14:32:00

We had a very pleasant stay and had no particular criticism. As usual in France, the price of the breakfast is not included - but that is not a big inconvenience since 'croscents and cafe' is easily obtainable and our breakfast needs are minimal Richard Hartley à 19:31:50

Quiet and pleasant
A friendly place - room comfortable but a bit cramped.
Rather far to walk to town centre /congress centre, and especially
with baggage to the station.
It would help to have details on arrival about the bus system and connections.

A Great Stopover
We stayed for one night on our way to the Black Forest, Germany. It was absolutely perfect for us - family of 3. The pool was lovely, refreshing & clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again! à 21:58:16

Overnight Stay
We stayed only one night en route to Dijon. Excellent rooms and service and a good quiet location only 15 minutes walk from the centre. We will certainly stay again. Tim and Sue à 15:00:27

Another lovely city break.
We came back to Le Tambour this July on the strength of a lovely weekend we spent here last June, and we'll probably be back for at least another night or two next summer. We particularly like the quiet location away from the bright lights and noise of the Place Drouet d'Erlon, but it's still only about 15 minutes walk to get to the bars and restaurants there. The part of town you have to walk through to get to the city centre has been described as "rough" but I'd rather describe it as "shabby". And anyway, the locals all seem friendly. Our room was clean, functional and equiped with air-conditioning, a decent television and a kettle. (Why do so many British tourists complain so bitterly about hotels without a kettle? You're in France for goodness sake! Go out and drink wine in the sunshine!) The staff are friendly and helpful and there was plenty to eat at breakfast. We came to Reims for our first break quite by chance. Now that we've found such a pleasant and convenient place to stay we plan to keep coming back. à 20:21:40
